KCGM's closeness to the city offers unique opportunities as well as unique challenges. While maintaining economic viability is vital, our operations need the support of the Community to reach full potential.
KCGM is proud to be part of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community as such our Community Relations Policy neatly sums up our commitment in three concepts: CONSIDER! COMMUNICATE! CONTRIBUTE!
Consideration of the environment and the local community is reflected in our everyday management practices, which also encourages the use of local businesses.
One of our most important ways of communicating is through the KCGM Reference Group, which consists of members of the local community who meet once a month with our representatives to discuss a wide range of issues. To meet the current CRG members click on the tab in the left hand column.
Contribution takes its shape in many forms – not the least being the significant amount of sponsorship KCGM injects into the local community. To view the KCGM Sponsorship Guidelines or download an application form click on the Sponsorship tab.
However it's not all about the money, KCGM holds free tours of its operations and engages in a range of local educational opportunities. The KCGM Volunteer group is also very active in the community, lending a hand at various local events. This earned them the accolade of joint winners with Boulder Rotary Club of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Volunteer Centre Group Awards in the Service to Community Category 2005.
KCGM's newest addition to the local community is the Super Pit Shop, located at 2 Burt Street, Boulder. The shop is the public face of KCGM, to find out all about the Super Pit Shop, its function, facilities and activities click on the shop tab above.
